Artemether-lumefantrine is an artemisinin-based antimalarial that rapidly reduces malarial parasite burden; lumefantrine provides sustained antimalarial activity. Praziquantel is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic effective against schistosomes by increasing cell membrane permeability to calcium ions, causing paralysis and death of the parasite. Albendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic that inhibits microtubule polymerization in helminths, leading to impaired glucose uptake and energy depletion.
