artemisia annua allergens + dermatophagoides farinae is a bivalent allergen immunotherapy (AIT) combination developed by The First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. It consists of standardized extracts from the pollen of *Artemisia annua* (sweet wormwood) and the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides farinae*. This therapeutic combination is primarily indicated for patients suffering from allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis who exhibit polysensitization to both allergens. The treatment works by inducing immunological tolerance; repeated administration of the allergens shifts the immune response from a pro-inflammatory Th2 profile to a regulatory T-cell (Treg) and Th1 profile. This results in the production of allergen-specific IgG4 blocking antibodies, which compete with IgE for allergen binding, thereby preventing mast cell degranulation and the subsequent release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators.
