Overview
Artemisia annua pollen allergen sublingual drops (marketed as Changhao) is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) product consisting of a standardized glycerinated allergen extract derived from *Artemisia annua* (mugwort) pollen. The extract contains the major allergenic components Art an 1 and Art an 3. Developed through clinical research led by Beijing Tongren Hospital (Capital Medical University) and manufactured by Zhejiang Wolwo Bio-pharmaceutical, it was approved by China's NMPA in May 2021 as the first standardized pollen allergen extract for SLIT in China. The treatment is indicated for seasonal allergic rhinitis caused by Artemisia pollen, which is a primary cause of autumn hay fever in Northern China. The therapy involves a dose-escalation phase followed by a maintenance phase, typically initiated approximately four months before the pollen season to induce immunological tolerance.
