Overview

Artemisia capillaris ethyl acetate extract is a botanical research compound derived from the plant *Artemisia capillaris* Thunberg, commonly known as capillary wormwood. It is primarily investigated for its therapeutic potential in liver diseases and metabolic disorders. The extract contains several bioactive polyphenols and coumarins, including chlorogenic acid, scopoletin, and scoparone. Mechanistically, it has been shown to inhibit the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, leading to apoptosis and anti-angiogenic effects in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. Additionally, it suppresses PPAR-γ expression to reduce lipid accumulation in obesity models and restores Glycine N-methyltransferase (GNMT) activity to mitigate electronegative LDL (L5)-induced vascular dysfunction. It remains in the preclinical stage of development with no commercial developer currently identified.
