Overview

Artemisia frigida pollen extract is a biological product derived from the pollen of the prairie sagebrush plant (*Artemisia frigida*). It is an injectable solution primarily used as an allergenic extract for diagnostic purposes. Administered via skin prick testing, it is used to diagnose allergies to *Artemisia frigida* pollen by inducing a localized hypersensitivity reaction in sensitized individuals. This type of extract was first approved in the U.S. in 1965. While mainly a diagnostic tool, allergenic extracts from Artemisia species are also used in allergen immunotherapy to treat pollen allergies.
