Overview

Artemisia rupestris extract is a traditional herbal medicine derived from Artemisia rupestris L., a perennial herb widely distributed in Xinjiang (China), Central Asia, and Europe[4]. It is used in traditional medicine for its antiallergic, antibacterial, and antiviral effects[4]. The main bioactive components are polysaccharides (notably water-extractable polysaccharides), flavonoids (such as artemetin, chrysosplenetin, pachypodol, penduletin, chrysoeriol), and other phytochemicals[1][2][4]. The extract has demonstrated immunomodulatory, antimicrobial, and adjuvant activities in preclinical studies[1][2][4]. It is not currently a registered pharmaceutical drug but is of research interest as a potential adjuvant and for its broad-spectrum bioactivities.
