Artemisia vulgaris pollen allergen extract is a biological product derived from the pollen of the mugwort plant (*Artemisia vulgaris*), developed by Bial Industrial Farmacéutica S.A. for the diagnosis and potential treatment of allergic conditions. The extract contains a complex mixture of allergenic proteins, most notably the major allergen Art v 1, a 27–29 kDa glycoprotein that is recognized by IgE antibodies in the majority of sensitized patients. It is primarily used in skin prick testing for the biological standardization of allergen sensitivity and has applications in allergen immunotherapy for conditions such as allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, and mugwort pollen allergy. Clinical evaluation has included Phase 1 studies focusing on in vivo biological standardization using planimetry of skin responses in sensitized individuals.
