Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Artensium is a topical homeopathic cream developed and manufactured by Boiron. It is formulated with a combination of two active plant extracts: Arnica montana mother tincture (7%) and Harpagophytum procumbens (devil's claw) mother tincture (3%). Artensium is traditionally used for the local symptomatic relief of muscle and joint pain, minor trauma (such as sprains, strains, and contusions), and painful flare-ups of osteoarthritis. The active herbal ingredients are believed to exert anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects locally at the site of application. Boiron is evaluating Artensium cream in Phase III clinical trials for pain relief in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis.
