Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A triple antimalarial combination therapy that combines arterolane (a synthetic ozonide antimalarial), piperaquine (a long-acting bisquinoline), and mefloquine. This combination was developed to reduce the risk of antimalarial resistance by combining a potent, rapidly cleared synthetic ozonide with two more slowly eliminated partner drugs. Clinical trials have shown it to be highly efficacious and safe for the treatment of uncomplicated falciparum malaria in children.
