ArterX

ArterX is a surgical sealant medical device developed by Tenaxis Medical for use in vascular reconstruction procedures. It consists of a two-part liquid system that, when mixed and applied, transforms into a flexible gel in less than 15 seconds. The sealant achieves hemostasis by mechanically sealing areas of leakage, such as suture lines, through a proprietary technology involving a crosslinking agent that covalently binds to proteins in both the sealant and the surrounding human tissue. It is indicated for prophylactic use and for treating bleeding after clamp release in procedures like carotid endarterectomy, lower extremity bypass, and arteriovenous (AV) grafts.
