ArthroFlex is a decellularized human dermal allograft developed by Arthrex and processed by LifeNet Health, specifically designed for use in Superior Capsular Reconstruction (SCR) and other orthopedic soft tissue repairs. The graft is produced using the Matracell decellularization process, which removes more than 97% of donor DNA and cellular components while maintaining the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix (ECM), including collagen and elastin. In the context of SCR, ArthroFlex acts as a biomechanical bridge between the glenoid and the humerus, providing superior stability to the glenohumeral joint and serving as a scaffold for host cell repopulation and revascularization in patients with massive, irreparable rotator cuff tears. It is typically provided in a 3mm thickness for SCR applications to ensure sufficient biomechanical strength.
