Overview

ARTICE is an extracorporeal immune cell therapy developed by Artcline GmbH for the treatment of septic shock and sepsis. The therapy utilizes allogeneic granulocytes (immune cells) obtained from healthy donors as the active biological component. It is administered via an extracorporeal perfusion system, where the patient's blood is passed through a device containing these purified granulocytes. The mechanism involves temporarily supplementing and reactivating the patient's dysregulated immune system to address immune failure, thereby reducing secondary infections and organ dysfunction. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development (ReActIF-ICE trial).
