Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Artiforte is a multi-symptom ophthalmic solution developed by Navana Pharmaceuticals for the relief of eye discomfort, redness, and dryness caused by minor eye irritations. It is a fixed-dose combination containing five active ingredients: glycerin, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol 400, tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride, and zinc sulfate. Glycerin, hypromellose, and polyethylene glycol 400 act as lubricants and demulcents that soothe, restore, and protect the ocular surface by stabilizing the tear film. Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist that induces local vasoconstriction of conjunctival blood vessels, thereby reducing eye redness and congestion. Zinc sulfate serves as an astringent that helps clear mucus and provides mild antiseptic activity. Artiforte is administered topically as eye drops.
