Arvac (also known as Arvac Cecilia Grierson) is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed in Argentina by **Laboratorio Pablo Cassará** in collaboration with the **National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET)** and the **National University of San Martín (UNSAM)**. It is the first COVID-19 vaccine entirely developed and manufactured in Argentina. The vaccine utilizes the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein as the antigen, produced using a yeast-based expression system (*Pichia pastoris*). It is formulated with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance the immune response. Arvac was approved by the Argentine regulatory agency **ANMAT** in October 2023 as a booster dose for individuals aged 18 and older, with versions adapted to circulating variants such as Gamma and Omicron.
