Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ARX-03 is a proprietary sublingual combination of the high-potency opioid sufentanil and the short-acting benzodiazepine triazolam, formulated as an oral transmucosal NanoTab to provide mild sedation, anxiolysis, and analgesia for patients undergoing painful office-based procedures. Developed by AcelRx Pharmaceuticals using its NanoTab delivery platform, ARX-03 delivers sufentanil and triazolam via the sublingual route with high bioavailability but lower and safer peak plasma levels than intravenous administration, aiming to obviate the need for an anesthesiologist while achieving rapid-onset, non-invasive procedural sedation, anxiety reduction, and pain relief.[1][4]
