Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ARX-F01** is an investigational sublingual **sufentanil** NanoTab formulation developed by AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, now Talphera, for management of moderate-to-severe acute post-operative pain. It is a rapidly absorbed, noninvasive sublingual opioid analgesic formulation evaluated in Phase 2 studies following major abdominal surgery and unilateral total knee replacement. Sufentanil produces analgesia principally through agonism of the mu-opioid receptor. ARX-F01 was an early sufentanil NanoTab drug formulation and should be distinguished from the later ARX-01/Zalviso patient-controlled analgesia drug-device system.
