Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Arylia** is a biosimilar version of denosumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that binds to **RANKL** (receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand), preventing its interaction with RANK on osteoclast precursors and mature osteoclasts, thereby inhibiting osteoclast survival, function, and development to reduce bone resorption. Developed by **AryoGen Pharmed** (Iran), it is administered as a 60 mg subcutaneous injection in a pre-filled syringe every 6 months. A phase III noninferiority trial (NCT03293108) demonstrated comparable efficacy and safety to the reference product **Prolia®** (Amgen) in postmenopausal osteoporosis, with similar increases in bone mineral density at the lumbar spine, total hip, and femoral neck over 18 months, and no significant differences in adverse events like hypocalcemia.[1][2][6]
