Overview
**AS01E** is GSK's proprietary liposome-based vaccine adjuvant system. It contains 25 micrograms each of 3-O-desacyl-4'-monophosphoryl lipid A and Quillaja saponaria fraction 21 per dose, formulated in liposomes. Monophosphoryl lipid A stimulates Toll-like receptor 4-mediated innate immunity, while QS-21 contributes complementary innate immune activation; together they enhance antigen presentation and antigen-specific cellular and humoral immune responses. AS01E is incorporated into vaccine products and candidates, including the RSV vaccine Arexvy, the RTS,S malaria vaccine formulation, and investigational M72/AS01E tuberculosis vaccines.
