Overview

AS02 is a proprietary **oil-in-water vaccine adjuvant system** developed by GSK for investigational prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines. It combines 3-O-desacyl-4′-monophosphoryl lipid A and the saponin QS-21 to enhance antigen-specific innate, cellular, and humoral immune responses. AS02 has been evaluated as part of candidate vaccines for diseases including *Plasmodium falciparum* malaria and tuberculosis, but it is not marketed as a standalone medicinal product.
