Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The AS03-adjuvanted low-dose trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine is an investigational seasonal influenza vaccine developed by GSK. It consists of a trivalent inactivated split-virion influenza vaccine (TIV) containing reduced doses of hemagglutinin (HA) antigens from three influenza strains (A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B), combined with the proprietary AS03 Adjuvant System. AS03 is an oil-in-water emulsion containing squalene, alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), and polysorbate-80, designed to enhance the immune response and allow for antigen dose-sparing. The vaccine aims to induce robust humoral and cellular immunity, specifically targeting hemagglutinin to prevent seasonal influenza in adults.
