Overview

AS900672 (also referred to as AS900672-Enriched) is an investigational drug developed for ovulation induction in women with oligo-anovulatory infertility. It acts as a follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) agonist and functions as an ovarian follicle stimulant. The drug was designed to stimulate multiple follicular development and induce ovulation, with the aim of achieving pregnancy rates comparable to those obtained with follitropin alfa (Gonal-f). Clinical trials have evaluated its safety, tolerability, and efficacy compared to standard therapy. Early studies indicated that it is generally well tolerated; however, due to its longer elimination half-life compared to follitropin alfa, there may be a higher risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome or cycle cancellation[2][5]. The compound was initially developed by Merck Serono SA[2].
