Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AS900672-Enriched + follitropin alfa is a combination regimen used in investigational Phase 2 studies for infertility, particularly in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)[1][3]. AS900672-Enriched is a novel, long-acting glycosylated recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone analogue developed to stimulate the ovarian follicle via agonism of the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR), with the goal of supporting multiple follicular development for IVF. Follitropin alfa is a recombinant human FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), also targeting ovarian follicle development via the FSHR, and is widely used to induce ovulation and support multifollicular development in assisted reproduction[2][4][5]. Mechanistically, both agents act as FSHR agonists, promoting ovarian follicular maturation and steroidogenesis. The combination is administered in the context of ART protocols to improve oocyte yield and pregnancy rates and is supported by Merck KGaA-sponsored clinical trials comparing single-dose AS900672-Enriched with daily follitropin alfa injections[1][3].
