Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASC 41 Placebo is the inert control arm used in clinical trials for ASC41, a liver-targeted thyroid hormone receptor beta (THR-β) agonist developed by Gannex Pharma (a subsidiary of Ascletis Pharma). As a placebo, it contains no active pharmaceutical ingredient and is designed to match the appearance and administration of the ASC41 oral tablets. It was utilized in Phase Ib studies to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamics of ASC41 in overweight and obese subjects with elevated LDL-C, as well as in trials for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
