Overview

ASC1 (Active Single Compound 1) is an experimental therapeutic agent under development by researchers at Kyungpook National University. It is being investigated for the treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease. In preclinical studies using high-fat diet-induced aging obese mouse models, oral administration of ASC1 (5 mg/kg) significantly reduced body weight gain, liver weight, hepatic triglycerides, and cholesterol levels, while improving glucose metabolism and reducing liver fibrosis. Additionally, ASC1 attenuated hepatic inflammation by suppressing inflammation-related proteins and macrophage activation genes.
