Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASC35o is an investigational, once-weekly oral dual glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR) agonist peptide being developed by Ascletis Pharma for the treatment of obesity and other metabolic diseases. Developed using Ascletis' proprietary POTENT oral peptide delivery platform, ASC35o is designed to achieve high oral bioavailability and low pharmacokinetic variability. It is the oral formulation of ASC35, which also has a subcutaneous injectable version (ASC35i). In preclinical studies, ASC35o demonstrated a long half-life in non-human primates, supporting once-weekly oral dosing. Ascletis expects to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the US FDA in the fourth quarter of 2026. It is also planned as a component of the once-weekly oral fixed-dose combination ASC36_35o, which combines ASC35o with the amylin receptor agonist ASC36.
