Overview

ASC37 is a triple peptide agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and glucagon receptor (GCGR). Developed by Ascletis Pharmaceuticals using its Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Structure-Based Drug Discovery (AISBDD) platform, ASC37 is designed for the treatment of obesity and cardio-metabolic diseases. The drug is being developed in two distinct formulations: an oral tablet utilizing the proprietary Peptide Oral Transport ENhancement Technology (POTENT) and a once-monthly subcutaneous injection. In vitro studies have demonstrated that ASC37 is significantly more potent than retatrutide across all three target receptors. Ascletis expects to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for the oral formulation in 2026.
