Overview

ASCA101 is a small molecule mitochondrial function modulator developed by MetaFines for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and cancer-associated cachexia. The drug acts by regulating mitochondrial pathways, including apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, ATP synthesis, and cytochrome c release. In oncology, ASCA101 is being investigated for its potential to induce synthetic lethality in BRCA wild-type or homologous recombination proficient (HRP) tumors and to overcome resistance to PARP inhibitors and tyrosine kinase inhibitors. In the context of cachexia, it aims to improve muscle and fat metabolism. ASCA101 is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for cachexia in solid tumor patients and Phase 1 trials for advanced solid tumors.
