ASCA101CC is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by MetaFines for the treatment of cachexia, specifically cancer-induced and chemotherapy-induced cachexia. The drug acts by modulating mitochondrial function and regulating muscle and fat metabolism to counteract the systemic wasting syndrome associated with advanced malignancies and cytotoxic treatments. It is being evaluated in both intravenous (IV) and oral (PO) formulations to address the metabolic imbalances that drive the progressive loss of body weight and muscle mass in oncology patients.
