ASCL-PLCs are platelet-like cells differentiated from a heterologous human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell line (ASCL). Developed as a standardized, mass-producible alternative to autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP), these cells release key growth factors including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), and bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2). In preclinical models of tendinopathy, ASCL-PLCs have demonstrated the ability to promote tendon repair by activating ERK1/2 signaling pathways and upregulating the expression of tendon-related genes such as Col1a1, Lox, and Mkx. Unlike traditional PRP, ASCL-PLCs do not require patient blood sampling and offer consistent quality for allogeneic transplantation.
