Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASD001 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody being developed by Ascendo Biotechnology for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It targets the CD11b receptor (Integrin alpha M) on myeloid cells. Unlike many therapies that inhibit immune targets, ASD001 acts as an activating antibody that modulates the innate immune system to reprogram overactive immune cells, thereby restoring immune homeostasis and reducing chronic inflammation. Preclinical mouse models have demonstrated its potential in suppressing overactive immune responses in IBD, and the company plans to file a U.S. Investigational New Drug (IND) application in 2026.
