ASFV antibody therapeutic

The ASFV antibody therapeutic is a preclinical-stage biologic candidate developed by Kermode (formerly Porcine Therapeutics) for the treatment and prevention of African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) infection in swine. ASFV is a highly contagious and lethal hemorrhagic disease affecting domestic and wild pigs, characterized by mortality rates approaching 100% in some strains. This therapeutic program utilizes neutralizing monoclonal antibodies to provide passive immunity, aiming to neutralize the virus and reduce viral shedding and mortality in porcine populations. As of 2024, the program is in preclinical development, targeting a critical unmet need in veterinary medicine and global food security.
