Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASFV toxoid antigen vaccine is a purified toxoid antigen subunit vaccine candidate being developed by Kermode Bio, specifically through its Porcine Therapeutics division. The vaccine is designed to prevent African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) infection in swine, a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease that poses a significant threat to the global pork industry. By utilizing a toxoid approach—where viral toxins or proteins are inactivated but remain immunogenic—the vaccine aims to stimulate a protective immune response in pigs without the safety concerns associated with live-attenuated virus vaccines. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
