Overview

Asivatrep (PAC-14028) is a nonsteroidal, small molecule drug developed as a topical cream for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and other skin disorders. It acts as a potent and selective antagonist of the transient receptor potential vanilloid subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1) receptor, which plays an important role in mediating itch, pain, and inflammation in skin conditions. By inhibiting TRPV1 activity on sensory neurons, asivatrep reduces pruritus (itch), improves clinical symptoms of atopic dermatitis, and helps restore skin barrier function. The drug was primarily developed by Amorepacific and has undergone phase 3 clinical trials for atopic dermatitis; it also reached phase 2 trials for pruritus, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, and other dermatological indications[3][4][5][7][8].
