Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASK2305 is a small molecule antagonist of the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel, currently under development by Jiangsu Aosaikang Pharmaceutical. It is specifically being investigated for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). TRPV1 is a non-selective cation channel expressed in sensory neurons and the urothelium, where it plays a critical role in bladder sensation and the regulation of the micturition reflex. By modulating or antagonizing TRPV1 activity, ASK2305 aims to reduce the hypersensitivity of bladder afferent nerves and improve bladder control, thereby alleviating the symptoms of involuntary urine leakage associated with SUI. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
