ASK8007

ASK8007 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks osteopontin, an extracellular matrix protein with diverse immunomodulatory functions. It was developed as a novel therapeutic approach for rheumatoid arthritis, aiming to inhibit the activity of osteopontin and thereby modulate immune responses involved in disease pathology. Clinical studies demonstrated that ASK8007 was safe and well tolerated up to the highest studied dose (20 mg/kg), with quantifiable concentrations detected in synovial fluid. However, no significant clinical efficacy or biomarker changes were observed compared to placebo in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Development for this indication was terminated after phase I/II trials due to lack of robust clinical improvement[1][2][6][9].
