Overview

ASM-002 is a small molecule nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist originally developed by Asmacure Ltée (later acquired by Odan Laboratories) for the treatment of inflammatory and respiratory diseases, such as asthma. Derived from the structural modification of dimethylphenylpiperazinium (DMPP), ASM-002 exhibits anti-inflammatory and smooth muscle-relaxing properties. In preclinical studies, including mouse and dog models of asthma, ASM-002 demonstrated dose-dependent relaxation of tracheal smooth muscle and inhibition of cellular lung inflammation with efficacy comparable to prednisone.
