ASN-4

ASN-4 is an investigational monoclonal antibody-based antibacterial agent engineered to exert both direct bactericidal activity and endotoxin-neutralizing activity against multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli, particularly the globally prevalent ST131 clone associated with urinary tract and bloodstream infections. Preclinical work indicates that ASN-4 retains potent killing of extremely drug-resistant ST131 isolates and neutralizes lipopolysaccharide-mediated endotoxin effects, supporting its potential as a targeted therapy for severe infections caused by extended-spectrum beta-lactamase- and carbapenem-resistant E. coli.[1] It has been described in the context of novel anti-infective biologics but detailed clinical development information, developers, and formulation data are not publicly well characterized.
