Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Asolevo M is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by A.S. Pharmaceutical (India) Private Limited. It contains two active ingredients: levocetirizine (5 mg) and montelukast (10 mg). Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that acts as a potent and selective antagonist of peripheral H1 receptors, effectively reducing symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor CysLT1, which helps to reduce airway inflammation, edema, and nasal congestion. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and associated respiratory symptoms, providing dual-action relief by targeting both the histamine and leukotriene pathways of the allergic response.
