ASP-4058

ASP-4058 is an orally active small molecule drug developed as a next-generation sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor agonist. It shows selectivity for S1P receptor subtypes S1P1 and S1P5 over other S1P receptors. The compound was investigated primarily for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and has also been studied in preclinical models for its potential to reduce chronic arterial wall inflammation underlying intracranial aneurysm by enhancing endothelial barrier function and reducing macrophage infiltration. Clinical development reached Phase 1 trials in healthy volunteers but was discontinued for multiple sclerosis[5][6][7][8].
