Overview

ASP1948 is a fully human monoclonal IgG4 antibody that targets neuropilin-1 (NRP1), an immune modulatory receptor expressed on regulatory T cells (Tregs) and other cell types. By binding to NRP1, ASP1948 blocks its interaction with ligands, thereby inhibiting the immune suppressive function of Tregs and potentially enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. The drug was developed as an immuno-oncology therapy for advanced solid tumors and was evaluated both as monotherapy and in combination with PD-1 inhibitors such as nivolumab or pembrolizumab. It was originally developed by Potenza Therapeutics and further co-developed by Astellas Pharma[3][6][1]. Clinical development reached phase 1 trials but has since been discontinued for solid tumors[3].
