ASP1951 is a human, high-affinity, tetravalent monospecific agonistic monoclonal antibody that targets the glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor (GITR; also known as TNFRSF18). By binding to GITR on immune cells, ASP1951 acts as an agonist to stimulate the receptor and enhance anti-tumor immune responses. It was developed for use in advanced solid tumors both as a single agent and in combination with pembrolizumab. The drug was initially developed by Potenza Therapeutics and later by Astellas Pharma. Clinical development reached phase 1 trials but has since been discontinued for all indications[3][4][10].
