Overview

ASP4070 (also known as JRC-LAMP-vax) is an investigational DNA vaccine designed for the treatment of Japanese red cedar pollinosis (allergic rhinitis). Developed using Immunomic Therapeutics' proprietary LAMP-vax platform and licensed to Astellas Pharma, the vaccine consists of a DNA plasmid encoding the Cry J2 allergen from Japanese red cedar pollen fused to the Lysosomal Associated Membrane Protein (LAMP). This fusion protein is designed to be trafficked directly to the lysosomal compartment within antigen-presenting cells, thereby enhancing MHC class II presentation and promoting a Th1-biased immune response. The goal of this immunotherapy is to re-educate the immune system to reduce the Th2-mediated allergic response, potentially providing long-term relief from allergy symptoms. ASP4070 has been evaluated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials in Japan and the United States.
