Overview

ASP7374 is a quadrivalent, cell-culture derived influenza vaccine developed by UMN Pharma Inc. and Astellas Pharma for the Japanese market. It is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies against influenza viruses, providing protection against infection. The development and commercialization agreement for ASP7374 was initially a joint effort between UMN Pharma and Astellas Pharma, with Astellas responsible for further development costs and commercialization, and UMN Pharma retaining manufacturing responsibilities. However, Astellas later terminated the agreement in January 2017, returning all rights to UMN Pharma.
