ASP8302

ASP8302 is a novel small molecule positive allosteric modulator of the muscarinic M3 receptor. It was developed by Astellas Pharma for the treatment of underactive bladder and other bladder/urinary tract diseases associated with inadequate contraction. By enhancing the activity of the muscarinic M3 receptor, ASP8302 aims to improve voiding efficiency and reduce residual urine volume in patients with voiding dysfunction. Clinical studies showed that ASP8302 was safe and well tolerated but did not demonstrate significant efficacy in improving clinical outcomes for underactive bladder[1][4][5]. Development for this indication has been discontinued[2].
