Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aspergillus fumigatus skin prick solution is a diagnostic allergen extract developed by Zhejiang Wolwo Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the detection of type I hypersensitivity reactions. It is specifically designed for use in skin prick testing to identify sensitization to the fungus *Aspergillus fumigatus*, which is a common trigger for allergic conditions such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). The solution works by introducing fungal allergens into the skin; in sensitized individuals, these allergens cross-link specific IgE antibodies on the surface of mast cells, triggering the release of histamine and other mediators that result in a visible wheal-and-flare reaction. As of 2023, the product is undergoing Phase 1 dose-finding clinical trials in China to evaluate its safety and diagnostic performance.
