Overview
A combination oral pharmaceutical product containing **aspirin**, **magnesium hydroxide**, and **aluminum hydroxide** is used primarily to provide the anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects of aspirin while minimizing gastrointestinal irritation through buffered antacid components. **Aspirin** inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain, fever, and inflammation, and irreversibly inhibits platelet aggregation. **Magnesium hydroxide** and **aluminum hydroxide** act as antacids, neutralizing gastric acid and protecting the gastric mucosa.
