ASSAN dolo gel is a topical combination gel developed and marketed by Permamed for the treatment of painful and inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and the spine, as well as blunt injuries such as bruises, sprains, and strains. It contains three active ingredients: flufenamic acid (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes), hydroxyethyl salicylate (a salicylate NSAID), and heparin sodium (an anticoagulant that enhances antithrombin-III activity). The gel formulation contains alcohol, providing a soothing cooling effect upon application, and is approved and available over-the-counter in Switzerland.
