AST-915 is an orally delivered small molecule drug developed for the treatment of essential tremor, a common neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary shaking, mainly affecting the hands, arms, and upper body. Early phase 1/2 clinical studies indicated that AST-915 was well tolerated and showed reductions in tremor amplitude at several time points post-dosing, though not at the pre-specified primary endpoint. The drug was originally developed by Ariston Pharmaceuticals, later a subsidiary of Manhattan Pharmaceuticals, and later development efforts were reported by TG Therapeutics. Despite initial clinical promise and further planned studies, global development of AST-915 has been discontinued. AST-915's precise molecular mechanism of action has not been disclosed in the public domain.
