Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AST-Cp-13 is a discovery-stage small molecule parasiticide being developed by ASTRA Therapeutics for the treatment of protozoan infections in companion animals. Discovered using ASTRA's proprietary ParaX® drug development platform, AST-Cp-13 belongs to a novel class of species-specific parasite inhibitors known as Parabulins®. The drug is designed to selectively target and inhibit parasite tubulin, disrupting microtubule dynamics and cell division in the pathogen while sparing the host animal's cells. AST-Cp-13 is currently in the discovery phase of development.
