Overview

AST-Cw-12a is a preclinical-stage small molecule parasiticide being developed by ASTRA Therapeutics for the treatment of worm infections in companion animals. Generated using the company's proprietary ParaX® platform, AST-Cw-12a belongs to a novel class of drugs known as Parabulins®. It is designed to selectively target and disrupt parasite-specific tubulin, a protein essential for cell division, thereby inhibiting parasite replication and survival while sparing host cells and minimizing toxicity.
